Soave Enterprises Encourages Green Practices in the Workplace

Soave Enterprises and MPS Group encourages offices and workplaces to take a proactive stance towards implementing green practices.Anthony Soave, CEO of Soave Enterprises.

Soave Enterprises and MPS Group encourage offices and workplaces to be more responsible about managing waste.  We share this planet, and it is important that everyone helps take care of it together.  Consider starting a workplace “Green Plan” that can help everyone make wiser choices and take more responsible actions.

Here are some ideas from the Soave affiliate, MPS Group, on how to implement green practices in the workplace:

1) Preserve Paper – With so many documents going digital, is it really necessary to print your reports or make 30 copies of a file?  Consider sharing digital copies of files or collaborate online on projects to help save paper.  This not only reduces operating costs for your office, but also preserves natural resources.  Also, consider using 100% recycled paper rather than alternatives and re-use printed paper for quick notes.

2) Use Green Materials – When was the last time you reviewed your supplies list?  There are many green materials available on the market for a reasonable price.  Take some time to review your materials and see where you can substitute safe, cleaner products.  This applies to cleaning products, paper products, break-room supplies, and even office supplies like pencils and printer cartridges.

3) Become Energy Efficient – What kind of light bulbs are shining above you?  By replacing incandescent bulbs with high efficiency bulbs you can save energy and money.  Or, even more simply, open the blinds and let in more natural light!  Also, consider purchasing energy star appliances and energy efficient office equipment.  These use nearly half the energy or a standard appliance, and are now available at reasonable prices in a variety of equipment.

4) Recycle – One simple word that does a lot.  Make it easy for employees to recycle by setting out specific recycling bins in the break room, hallways, warehouse, back lot, or anywhere else people frequently are.  Educate your team on what materials can be recycled or sponsor a recycling contest.  Creating awareness helps build new habits, and habits like recycling help save the environment!

Also, there is more to recycle that just paper.  Consider recycling scrap metal such as old appliances, defunct equipment vehicles, or industrial waste.  These items can bring in cash based on their market value and help replenish recycled scrap metal resources.

So go ahead, take a look around your workplace and don’t be shy about making some changes.  Even little efforts count, and can lead to bigger changes over time.  Everyone can play a role in taking care of our environment, and future generations will thank you for it one day!
