Anthony Soave has been building successful businesses for over thirty years. Just like parents of young children look forward their offspring’s important milestones: first tooth, first step, first word, Anthony Soave anticipates the growth milestones of each of his diverse business ventures within Soave Enterprises.
Together with the team who brought Parts Galore to life, Tony Soave celebrates the innovative salvage yard’s milestones, including its landmark sales accomplishments.
On Saturday, May 23rd, 2009 at 1:05 p.m., the self-serve used auto parts facility welcomed its one-millionth customer after just four years of business. Yvetta Williams of Detroit stopped in at the chain’s original location on West Warren with her husband, Vic, to find an automatic transmission for their 1996 Ford minivan. Little did she know her visit would be so celebrated.
“Yvetta was pleased to be our millionth customer, especially when she received her transmission free of charge with a 30-day guarantee, plus a $100.00 store credit for anything we sell,” said Parts Galore President Bill Wild.
For Parts Galore, customers like Yvetta and Vic are everything. Wild comments, “A customer is our most important visitor. He is not dependent on us; we are dependent on him. He is not an interruption of our work; he is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider to our business; he is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him; he is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so.”
On the handicapped accessible lot, the average age of vehicles on display for parts sales is 15 to 17 years old. A diverse collection of bargain hunters – both male and female – scour the yard for quality goods. Also Parts Galore has added licensed used car dealer to its resume now sells inexpensive transportation specials. In keeping with its pioneering history, Parts Galore is currently developing an option for its customers to shop from home.
“We’ve started a pilot program to sell used auto parts and vehicles on Ebay,” reports Manager Joe Campbell. “We think there is a great opportunity and demand for our used parts and vehicles nationwide, and we are excited about our business in these new ventures.”
Instead of discarding auto parts that would otherwise have been loading up our landfills, Parts Galore I has recovered and resold tens of thousands of items like:
• mercury switches
• head and taillights
• used tires
• pieces of glass
• spark plug wires
• wiper blades
• yards of rubber weather stripping
