Exton, PA May 2013 – ComForcare Home Care of Exton, PA is reaching out to the community by participating in a variety of health care awareness events throughout the spring. ComForcare is a non-medical private home care agency that provides personal assistance for individuals in Chester County who prefer to remain in the comfort of their own home as they age. As part of their client care program, ComForcare is dedicated to supporting local home care and health care programs and educational events to strengthen the community as a whole.
Most recently, ComForcare Exton participated in the National Prescription Take-Back Day by educating clients and others about local programs. On April 27th, the Pennsylvania State Police collected unwanted, expired, and unused prescription drugs to dispose of them safely. The service was free and anonymous. ComForcare shared information to help home care clients and others find a local drop-off location and encouraged clients and their families to participate.
“Flushing medications contributes to water pollution and poses serious health risks to water supplies,” shares ComForcare Exton Owner, Susan Mojaverian, MSN, RN. “At ComForcare, we encourage clients to use their prescriptions according to their doctor’s directions and to properly dispose of any expired or unused medicines. This service made that process easy and convenient.”
In addition to promoting National Prescription Take-Back Day, ComForcare owner Susan Mojaverian, MSN, RN also supported the first annual “Lets Come Together” event which brought together local musicians and entertainers to support the local cultural diversity and give back to non-profit organizations that support youth. Susan is a member of the Rotary Club of Great Valley which hosted the event.
During the event, Klezmer, Blues Jazz, Rock, Folk, Brazilian, and Indian musicians performed for an audience of all ages. Food was provided and featured a multicultural theme, and a Chinese Auction was held to raise funds to benefit youth programs including Home of Sparrow, Rotaplast, and Rescue Mission for Children. Overall, the event was a huge success, and the Rotary Club plans to repeat the festivities again next year.
