Anthony Soave is a successful Detroit businessman who has built a national billion-dollar empire with his diverse portfolio of businesses including waste management, beverage distribution, luxury real estate, and more. However, Anthony – known to many as “Tony”, could have had a very different life. In his youth, Tony Soave was an athletic team player, with a bright future in football.
Anthony Soave attended high school at Nativity of our Lord, a small Catholic school in Detroit, Michigan. He fondly remembers the nuns who were his teachers, and to this day appreciates their work and service.
“I have a soft spot for nuns,” shares Tony Soave. “They were a big part of my childhood.”
Choosing the Future
During school, Tony played football and was a rising star in his region. However, he recognized his inherent skill and interest in business and chose to make his living doing what he loved. Early on, he purchased a white dump truck which became the beginnings of his waste and industrial management company. Through a series of successful purchases and business moves, Tony built his small company into one of the largest waste management companies in the Detroit area.
His daughter Angelique comments on her father’s tenacity sharing, “When my dad commits to something, he is in it for the long haul.”
Tony is now owns and manages a wide array of businesses in diverse industries which collectively bring in over $1.9 billion per year. For Tony Soave, following his gut instincts has really paid off. However, he still carries the mentality of a team player and recognizes that his success has come through the efforts of himself, his family, and his loyal business partners and employees.
“Our success is a result of everyone’s hard work at Soave Enterprises, and of the loyalty and support from our clients, partners, and community,” shares Soave.
Soave has passed down his legacy and work ethic to his family and employees. His daughter Andrea comments, “My father always taught us the most important thing a person has is their reputation. He is a wonderful role model, showing us the importance of being fair, honest, kind, and treating others the way we wanted to be treated.”
Today, Tony Soave is still very involved with his family and his community. He regularly attends Mass at both Bon Secours in Grosse Pointe, and his parish church, St. Paul, in Grosse Pointe Farms. Tony’s remains grounded in his faith and dedicated to treating others with kindness and dignity, and to being fair and honest with others. The Soave family is close, and Tony Soave enjoys spending time with his two daughters and his grandson.
Anthony Soave extends his values to his companies and encourages his leadership teams and employees to find the right balance in their lives and to spend time with family and serving in the local community.
